Regenerative farming practices at Eco Terreno.

At Eco Terreno, farming with care, intention, and respect for nature is at the heart of everything we do.

Our vineyard lies in the upper northeastern corner of Sonoma County, in the beautiful Alexander Valley, right along the banks of the Russian River. This land is full of life — native plants, wildlife, birds, and insects (of course, bees!) — all part of a delicate natural system we work hard to protect and nurture.

We farm organically and practice regenerative methods, focused on enriching the land, and restoring it as we work. Between the vines, we plant cover crops that build healthy soil, prevent erosion, and help retain moisture. These plants also provide food and habitat for bees, butterflies, and other essential pollinators.

Animals are a vital part of our farm’s balance. Chickens, ducks, and geese roam freely through the vineyard, naturally controlling pests without the need for chemicals. During winter, sheep graze the cover crops, gently mowing and fertilizing the soil as they go.

We also keep our water use in balance by carefully managing irrigation, always thinking about the health of the Russian River that runs beside us.

For us, regenerative and organic farming isn’t a trend. It’s a promise to the land, to our wines, and to the generations to come. By treating the land gently, we not only grow better grapes — we make wines that truly reflect this special place.
