Gabriel Salcedo
Tasting Room Manager
Rooted in a lifelong immersion in wine culture, Gabriel Salcedo's journey began in Ecuador and unfolded through his formative years in Chile and New York. Growing up with his father's wine importing business, which introduced Chilean varietals to Ecuador, Gabriel gained early practical experience managing port deliveries.
His formal engagement with the wine world deepened during college in Chile, where he became an advocate for the boutique wine movement, supporting independent producers. His initial contributions played a role in enhancing the global visibility of esteemed brands like Montes, Casa Silva, and Los Vascos. Following his move to California, Gabriel earned his Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) through the San Francisco Wine School and complemented his studies with hands-on harvest experience at La Crema (Jackson Family Wines) in Sonoma.
Gabriel's subsequent career has encompassed a diverse range of roles within the industry, including managing tasting rooms at Sol Rouge and Winemaker Studios, and his ongoing involvement in production at Treasure Island Wines. Demonstrating his innovative spirit, he launched @simple_mente_vino, a pioneering Spanish-language wine video podcast on Spotify in Latin America, making wine education engaging and accessible. He further expanded his expertise through certification in Wine Coaching, a unique program from Catar Coaching in Argentina that utilizes wine to facilitate personal and group connection.
At Eco Terreno, where his passion for education and strategic thinking quickly distinguished him as Wine Ambassador, Gabriel now manages the San Francisco Tasting Room and leads Sales and Marketing Operations for the Bay Area. He is focused on cultivating the wine club, enhancing brand engagement, and strengthening the company's local presence.
Beyond his dedication to wine, Gabriel's involvement in the Bay Area sports scene, including supervisory roles with the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers, underscores his deep passion for hospitality. His experience across numerous industry roles has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of customer service, team dynamics, and the intricacies of the hospitality sector, shaping his empathetic, professional, and respectful leadership philosophy.
